2-[4,6-Bis(2,4-dimethylphenyl)-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl]-5-(octyloxy)phenol is used as a stabilizer for olefin polymers intended for use in contact with food. 2-[4,6-Bis(2,4-dimethylphenyl)-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl]-5-(octyloxy)phenol is also used as UV light absorber/stabilizer in other polymers.
